OPENING OF EXHIBITION “GOOD-BAD” AVDEI TER-OGANYAN
On September 2, the VS unio gallery hosted the vernissage of the first retrospective exhibition of the legendary Russian artist Avdei Ter-Oganyan after returning him to Russia. The well-known ideologist of Moscow conceptualism presented to the public his most beloved and recognized by art critics works of the 1980s and 1990s, including bold copies of paintings by Matisse, Monet, and his own research on the cubist motifs of Picasso. The exposition also includes a sophisticated series of the 2000s “Stripes” - the artist’s personal contribution to the world of abstractionism.
The first visitors of the exhibition “GOOD-BAD” were close friends of Avdei, artists, and mates of the art group “Art or Death” and galleries in Trekhprudny Lane, students of the “School of Avantgardism”. The distinguished guests personally came to greet the artist: the collector of contemporary Russian art and publisher Pierre Brochet with his wife - artist Annushka, the founder of the creative agency FprBuro and the editor of WS magazine Dmitry Chograshi in the company of American actress Sophya Skya, Russian art critic Leonid Bazhanov, who authored the article for the catalog to exhibition.
In addition, the exhibition is included in the parallel program of the International Fair of Contemporary Art Cosmoscow, leading collectors in Moscow have already managed to recognize the merits of the new exhibition project of VS unio. The guests of the evening enjoyed of natural refreshing apple cider of Strongbow.
